looking ahead: SS25 TrendS
Another Fashion Month is in the books. As per usual, the City of Lights did not disappoint, and so many of the collections were nothing short of dazzling
NYFW Rundown: Where We’ve Been & Where We’re Going
Boho is here to stay.
I was absolutely blown away by the 2024 Fall Chloe collection. Newly appointed creative director Chemena Kamali is truly the embodiment of this singular brand that carefully curates styles FOR women BY women. Reviews noted that the styles evoked a “potent mix of both softness (not to be taken in any way for weakness) and strength.” I could not agree more. This inspired, fresh take on the power of femininity is no shrinking violet. With its bold 70’s aesthetic, tiered ruffles, double layering, and understated beauty, Chloe is giving me the green light to embrace my sensuality and power. This collection felt like a homecoming in so many ways: not just because of its reverential nod to the collections of yesteryear, but also as a return to a more joyous time in both fashion and life.
Slowing Down Fashion: A Case Study
Fashion is abuzz with conversations about reducing waste, minimizing carbon footprints, and overall sustainability. After a stretch of fast fashion apologizing and launching marketing campaigns designed to make brands feel more sustainable (i.e. greenwashing), the luxury market is finally being called to the carpet.
Whiplash
Some of you may have noticed mentions of an accident and maybe a few vaguely sad posts. I’ve also found myself overwhelmed by writing and sometimes by even returning texts. So since I finally have some answers, I figured I would take a moment (and the rest of today’s brainpower) to explain..
Hung Up on Style
It was 1998. I was at UMass studying classical percussion but longing to focus on vocal performance at the Berklee College of Music. Making that happen would require a move to Boston and a job, so I found myself following a long-time secret passion for fashion right into the executive offices of Saks Fifth Avenue. Working in the shoe department turned out to be a blessing for a young woman with little experience, and my journey into the world of luxury fashion began…
The New “Normal” is Extremely Personal
My approach to styling each client and every wardrobe has always been a highly personalized one- taking into consideration individual style, the life being lived, the places we are going and the closets that we have to work with. With the new circumstances and challenges that the pandemic has presented us, there has been an extreme shift in almost all of these factors.
April Showers
With most of the last week of April bringing us buckets of rain, I find myself thinking of those May flowers ahead. From the romantic, to the boho, to the casual, to the clean and modern, these floral looks offer a little something for everyone to look forward to. 🌺
Have a Heart
I am a lucky girl who gets to call some of the most wonderful, talented and interesting people in the business her friends. Earlier this week, as I looked ahead to a blog schedule, I decided that I really wanted to end the week sharing something positive and powerful- and hey, maybe something to get the gears turning on gift ideas for the rapidly approaching Mother’s Day. That’s when I thought of Jenn Shanker, the undeniably cool woman behind the MUSE showroom, who doesn’t just play with pretty jewels all day, she strategizes ways to positively impact the world and promote sustainable practices in her industry.
Up Your Game
Long days of working from home and managing online schooling leave me needing something to look forward to when it all wraps up. A good game night brings the family back together for a fun post-dinner activity and takes the focus off the news. It also may just offer a much needed diversion from the screaming matches we might just have maybe had over said homeschooling. 😳
Sustainable Luxury
In honor of Earth Day, I’d like to feature looks made solely from fashion houses who have committed to an earth conscious, sustainable approach to their production, sources and philosophies.

Just Your Style
Quarantine will NOT kill our style. In fact, during these long days, I am finding myself hungrier than ever to put together killer head-to-toe looks. I love fashion and I am passionate about helping women find and project their true style identity. With days of working from a desk ahead of me, I have a unique opportunity to spend time online to curate virtual shoppable wardrobes and I would love to do it for you!
Your Closet Curated
Hello! This week has been a trying one for me in quarantine with no internet or cable. I KNOW. 😱
bottoms up
It’s Friday (not that it matters here in lock down), but I am finding myself a little bored with my quarantini and am fantasizing about my next encounter with a well made cocktail. Here is some inspiration for days ahead when we can actually clink our glasses wearing something more than a waist up “outfit” on Zoom.
Business Up Top
First day in my home office, which happens to be located in the corner of my bedroom, has me inspired to share a “work from home“ edit with you ladies... and gents 😏
Emotional Hardware
My daily neck stack has become a definition of my daily style and a serious part of who I am. Most of it is comprised of creations made by two of my favorite female jewelry designers. Meet Monica Rich Kosann and Marla Aaron ❤️
F is for Fendi... and Fun
The Fendi Spring/Summer ‘20 RTW collection had a heavy 1970’s influence (which I adore), loaded with crochet, suede, and florals in warm rich browns, camels, golds and touches of a soft pink. BUT the true standouts as I browse through the special pieces waiting for us in the boutique are the handbags. The vibrant colors and textures and rich leathers and exotics have me desperately craving something new, fresh and fun.
For your Smooches
Fully biased post alert!🤩
Just over 12 years ago, Em found herself in NYC tasked with caring for my first kiddo. Little did we know that a passion for styling ran in the family and hers was strong. Kellan was the best dressed infant in the city and it was due to our obsession with finding the best little boy fashions. Thankfully, Smoochie Baby was in our neighborhood. Fast forward to today and little sis is buyer, visual genius, general manager and part-owner of our favorite upscale kid’s boutique in Brooklyn.
KMD More than a Designer, a Powerful Advocate for Our Planet and for Much Needed Change
By the title, I imagine it is clear that I have mountains of admiration for Kimberly, and no it is not just that we both have the distinction of being known by our initials and that we share a weakness for any animal in need...
On the Bright Side
It’s almost the weekend and the sun is poking out from behind the clouds. Here are some fresh fun looks loaded with pops of color to keep that mood light and remind us that brighter days are ahead!
