Emotional Hardware

My daily neck stack has become a definition of my daily style and a serious part of who I am. Most of it is comprised of creations made by two of my favorite female jewelry designers. Meet Monica Rich Kosann and Marla Aaron ❤️

About 6 years ago, I was introduced to the always lovely, wonderfully creative and sentimental Monica Rich Kosann. Her approach to design is to empower the wearer and to inspire with charms that tell a story and lockets meant to be made entirely personal. Those of you who know me personally know that the “Dorothy” pendant shown above and her “Sun, Moon and Stars” charm combined with a Pamela Love dagger are part of my daily neck stack and most certainly tell a part of my personal story.

Then, just over a year and a half ago, I stumbled across my first Marla Aaron lock in my favorite Parisian jewelry shop, Mad Lords. Knowing nothing of the brand, I snatched up my first Chubby Baby Lock and chain- loving that I could customize and make my very own new signature piece. A quick tag on Instagram showing off my new favorite neck piece and Marla and I became acquainted and I was invited to her showroom in Midtown Manhattan.

Words cannot really describe the laid back cool of Marla, her showroom and her staff. I was encouraged to play with every bauble and create and an obsession was born. Her collection is diverse and cool and extends far past her core locks into convertible earrings, stunning inlay rings and the most romantic of all, her Di Me series of rings and bracelets that twist apart to expose custom hidden messages. Yes. I am madly in love...
